Expanding the boundaries of the Palace
It’s not a secret that lowland rinks do not give super high speeds. It is believed that, the higher the rink is above sea level, the faster the ice. "Alau", while at an altitude of 349 meters above sea level, is going to argue this statement.
Many factors are to be considered when creating fast ice. In any case this is the handiwork for man. Preparation of the ice in "Alau" is handled by experts who know a lot about fast ice. The results of the Asian games are a testimony to that – nine continental records were set. Every new competition in the Palace is a moment of truth – an event that the whole staff of the Palace gets ready for with the utmost thoroughness.
Another advantage of the Palace should be noted – its capital status. The Ice Palace enters the city’s infrastructure organically. Thanks to the advantages of “Alau”, we understand everything positive that there is in Astana and look forward to a whole range of services that go far beyond the walls of the Palace. Taking into account the abilities of Astana as a whole, the Ice Palace is able to offer athletes a modern airport, sophisticated transport highways, place of culture and a modern, green city. All of this has a value for athletes. That’s why, while fighting for the title of best ice rink in the world, we expand the framework of the Palace limits to the limits of the whole city. Astana is one of the sports centers of Asia. And this is the main potential of our Palace.
The most important task is to make "Alau" the best in CIS, a truly multifunctional sports facility. From one end – the ice rink, able to receive sport competitions on the highest level: Championships of the World, Asia and Republic. From the other – it’s a public sports facility for all willing. One of the mottos that which we take ourselves to adopt: Champion’s ice for all!
"Alau" is constantly evolving a program of public access, so that everyone can come to skate, play ice hockey, and visit the fitness center, sauna, SPA and also the games and athletic halls. The first stage of the access program is aimed towards the creation of optimal conditions for conducting training camps and training of children’s sports sections. The second stage consists of launching of the fitness center and the project "Mass Skating".
