15 March, 2018 Elmira Adzhibaeva won a gold medal
On March 3 and 4, the 10th Masters’ International Sprint Games were held at the rink of «Krylatskoye» Sports Complex in Moscow.
Participants of games in the first in the history of Sports Complex ”Krylatskoe” were sportsmen from Germany, Holland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and Japan.
One of the representatives of Kazakhstan was Elmira Adzhibaeva, the head of the department for international, regional cooperation and organizing the competitions of the Ice Palace "Alau". In her age category 30+, Elmira Adzhibaeva took the first place and was awarded with a gold medal.
As Elmira says, she prefers long distances to short-distance races. Therefore, these days of competitions were given to her hard; including the fact that after giving a birth to her child she had not returned to professional trainings for about four years. However, Elmira was a witness of athletes’ desire to win who were 20 or even 30 years older than she is, so she was inspired and determined to be a winner. According to Elmira, the oldest participant in the competition was the representative of Japan at the age of 91 years old.
At the same time Tatyana Mikhaleva, senior coach of the skating department of "SCYSS №2” also won bronze in the age category 45+.
