The second day of the first round of the World Ice Speedway Championship came to an end. The competition, held in Astana, was full of exciting moments, frank surprises and bright victories.
The representative of Kazakhstan Andrey Shishegov on the first day of the competition was able to reach the quarter-finals, and only a small missconcentration prevented Andrei from finishing second, and get ticket to Final.
Kazakhstan’s sportsman was beaten by another young racer from Sweden - Martin Haarahiltunen. Unfortunately. Martin became a real discovery of this finale, showing steadfastness, perseverance and the will to win. This is what allowed him to take the second place on the first day of the competition. But on the second day of the competition, as the young Swede did not try, he could not take top places.
On the second day of the competition, the defending champion of the world, Dmitry Koltakov (Russia), left undefeated from the ice of “Alau”. Koltakov finished in the first place on the first and second days of the competition.

Martin Haarahiltunen, Sweden – 2nd place
Dmitrij Homitsevich, Russia – 3rd place.
In the finale of the second day:
Dmitry Koltakov, Russia – 1st place
Sergey Karachintsev, Russia – 2nd place
Daniil Ivanova, Russia – 3rd place.
